Susan Kohl Malone, PhD, RN, is a researcher focusing on cardio-metabolic disease prevention, particularly the intersection of sleep health and metabolic outcomes. Her innovative research examines how the timing and rhythmicity of lifestyle behaviors—including sleep patterns, eating habits, and physical activity—impact cardio-metabolic health. She specializes in designing, implementing, and evaluating bio-behavioral interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), to enhance cardio-metabolic health through improved sleep patterns. Her team also pioneers the integration of chronobiology into behavioral interventions, recognizing that biological and environmental rhythms underpin physiological functions and are crucial for improving health outcomes.
