Dr. Viswanadham’s (Lekha’s) research interests lie broadly in how to leverage behavioral sciences and data analytics to tailor interventions around health-based decision-making for both patients and providers. Methodologically, she focuses on machine-learning approaches for behavioral prediction and profiling and field-based behavioral experiments like in clinical practices and grocery stores. Lekha first joined NYUGSOM as a T32-funded postdoctoral fellow in population health, where she gained expertise in using EHR data to understand clinical decision support utilization in primary care. Before that, she earned Ph.Ds. in marketing and neuroscience from INSEAD and Sorbonne Université, respectively, an M.S. in management from INSEAD, and a B.S. from Caltech in applied mathematics and business economics. As part of an Intergovernmental Personnel Agreement, Lekha is also an associate evaluator with the Office of Evaluation Sciences of the U.S. General Services Administration, using quantitative approaches like machine learning, RCTs, and QEDs to evaluate and improve federal government operations and programs.
