Dr. Kathrine Sullivan is an Associate Professor at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. Dr. Sullivan’s primary research interest is on the impact of trauma in highly stressed family systems, with a particular focus on the families of military service members and families involved with the child welfare system. Dr. Sullivan’s work exploring the impact of trauma and stress on families has been funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Among her ongoing projects, Dr. Sullivan is the Director of the Child and Adolescent Maltreatment Prevention (CHAMP) Network, a National Child Traumatic Stress Network Category III Center, as well as the PI on an NICHD-funded R21 entitled “Parenting STAIR: Adapting a Trauma-Focused Parenting Intervention for Military Connected Mothers and Their Children.” Her work has been published in leading journals including JAMA Pediatrics, Journal of Traumatic Stress, and Child Maltreatment.
